Over the past few months in the WWE women’s division, both Raw and SmackDown have seen tensions flair.
On SmackDown, Blake Monroe’s delayed in-ring debut against Giulia led to the two women locking up several times on the show, while the implosion of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria’s tag team led to the same thing on Raw.
This past week, both rivalries came to an end in No Disqualification matches, and with that, it’s time for a trade to be made to freshen up both divisions.
Blake Monroe’s victory over Giulia
Since her call up following WrestleMania 41, Giulia has been part of the SmackDown roster, where she has reigned two times as Women’s United States Champion, though WWE would seemingly rather do anything than book that title.
This year, Giulia has seen her stock fall on the SmackDown brand, which included losses to Michin on Main Event (before WWE pretended to care about it) and a two minute loss to Lash Legend prior to SummerSlam.
With Giulia going 0-2 against Blake Monroe, there is feasibly nothing else for her to do on the SmackDown brand right now, so moving her to Raw would be in her best interests.
Bayley’s victory over Lyra Valkyria
For even longer than Giulia and Blake Monroe were locked in a rivalry, Lyra Valkyria and Bayley have been feuding since their tag team came to an end.
Unlike Giulia, Lyra did actually score the first two wins over Bayley during their feud, including a win at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Madison Square Garden and post-match angle that took Bayley out of action for several weeks.
However, Lyra has lost basically every single other match she has had that hasn’t been against Bayley since she turned heel, including losses to Sol Ruca, IYO SKY and Lola Vice in recent weeks.
During their No Disqualification blow off match tonight on Raw, Bayley would ultimately stand tall, submitting Lyra with a Crossface assisted by a Kendo Stick.
It’s not clear where exactly Lyra goes from here, but she has managed to show off a new side of herself since the heel turn, even if the booking hasn’t exactly been in her favour.
Lyra has been on the Raw roster exclusively since her call up just over two years ago, it’s time for her to also get in with some fresh opponents.
