At twelve matches officially announced, it appears that WWE WrestleMania 42 will be getting two more added to the April 18 & 19 event.

When it comes to remaining matches, the plan is seemingly to take it to fourteen, the same number as WrestleMania 41, which also took place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas last year.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has filled in the gaps when it comes to the unannounced matches, with Dave Meltzer providing the pertinent details.

According to Meltzer, the current plan for WWE WrestleMania 42 is 14 matches in total and seven on each night, with the two yet-to-be announced matches being:

IShowSpeed, Logan Paul & Austin Theory vs. LA Knight & The Usos

IYO SKY vs. Asuka

IShowSpeed was recently attacked by LA Knight on a livestream, having knocked out the WWE star with brass knuckles that were destined for Logan Paul on this week’s episode of Raw.

IYO SKY has recently shared her discomfort at Asuka’s treatment of IYO SKY, with the “Empress of Tomorrow” warning off any attempt to break up the Kabuki Warriors.

The match order for nights one and two is yet to be confirmed, but a list of all the officially announced matches can be seen here.

The Changing Plans For WWE WrestleMania 42

There were injuries, there was ticket price criticism, and there were those who had internal issues with Triple H, all of which have contributed to where things currently stand with WrestleMania 42.

As previously reported, internal criticism of Triple H stemmed from plans changing, with a “panic over ticket sales” being seen as a factor, despite, as Dave Meltzer states in the aforementioned report, the WrestleMania card not being known at that point.

With premium ticket prices for this year’s two-night PLE, and an apparent drop in sales compared to previous years, it’s clear that WWE will want to put on a roof-raising show, but that has always been the case with WrestleMania, given that it’s the top premium live event in a packed calendar.

Mere weeks before the show, fans have ruminated over some of the changes that have been made, but the spectacle of WrestleMania is bound to get eyes on the product.

WrestleMania 41 has a combined attendance of 118,641 at the Allegiant Stadium, with WWE no doubt hoping to score a similar six-figure number for both nights this year.

The event has come a long way since its last arena show – just over 17,000 in attendance at WrestleMania 22 in 2006 – with the only major anomaly being the zero fans in attendance for the first-ever two-night PLE during the COVID-19 pandemic era of 2020 at the WWE Performance Center.
