It was announced last week that WWE has won a major award for its work around corporate social responsibility and non-profit related work. While you can probably point out a handful of questionable practices by WWE related to its wrestlers, the treatment of their talent, and definitely their booking decisions, you cannot argue with the fact they do a ton of charity work.
As such, they have won an award for all they do outside the confines of the wrestling part of what they do. WWE won the Corporation Award at the PRNEWS CSR & Nonprofit Awards program, sponsored by 3BL Media.
So proud of the @WWECommunity team & all their hard work to make @WWE the 2020 Corporation of the Year at this year’s @PRNews CSR & Nonprofit Awards! WWE's mission is to put smiles on faces & it could not be done without the hard work & passion of this incredible team! https://t.co/yePZaa5Odo

Here is the official announcement from the awards program:
By working with and supporting organizations like Make-A-Wish, Susan G. Komen and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, WWE is flexing its corporate social responsibility muscle and making a difference in many people’s lives.
Through its recently re-imagined four community service pillars of Hope, Inclusion, Empowerment and Service, WWE is igniting social change and bringing communities closer together.
In a 30-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, WWE Superstars have so far granted over 6,000 wishes. And WWE Superstar John Cena has granted more wishes than any celebrity in Make-A-Wish history, with over 600 and counting.
Through its partnership with Susan G. Komen, WWE has donated over $2 million to support Komen’s mission of saving lives by investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
“The partnership has raised funds for Komen’s research and community health programs, celebrated survivors and helped us reach millions of people with potentially life-saving breast health information,” said Paula Schneider, President and Chief Executive Officer, Susan G. Komen. “We’re deeply grateful to our friends at WWE and their passionate global fan base for their commitment to our mission to end breast cancer forever.”
WWE also has a multi-year, national partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America that has helped promote positive and effective social and emotional learning to support bullying prevention efforts, while also creating a safe environment for today’s youth.
WWE’s Superstars also serve as Community Relations Ambassadors to support numerous causes and nonprofit partners. While Superstars travel 52 weeks a year, they always make time in their schedules (even on their off days) to participate in community relations events.
