A WWE star has now very much turned heel during this week’s July 15 episode of NXT airing on the CW Network.
At the Great American Bash this past Saturday, Yoshiki Inamura was unsuccessful in challenging Oba Femi for the NXT Championship
Inamura had Josh Briggs in his corner, but Briggs proved to be more of a hindrance than a help, as he wanted to cheat to help Inamura win, while Inamura wanted to compete with honor.
Tonight on NXT, Briggs headed to the ring on his own and complained about Inamura getting an NXT Title shot in the first place, saying:
“Bro I’ve been here for four years putting on some of the best matches in NXT history and I haven’t even sniffed an NXT Championship match.”
There had been plenty of signs for a while, but tonight firmly established Briggs as a heel.
He was then interrupted by Oba Femi, who confronted Briggs and said Briggs had ruined his match against Inamura, and Inamura deserves another title shot without Briggs getting involved.
Inamura himself then came out and joined them in the ring, and before long, a three-way match was announced for next week’s episode of NXT in Houston between Femi, Briggs and Inamura for the NXT Title.
