A WWE star has been removed from the company’s roster page after officially announcing his exit last week.
After reports and rumors mounted regarding his status, Tommaso Ciampa took to social media on January 21 to announce that he would be departing WWE in the “very near future” at the end of his contract.
We now have confirmation that Ciampa’s exit is official, as the former SmackDown star’s profile on the WWE roster page has been moved from “current superstars” to the “alumni” section (see below).
Ciampa last wrestled on WWE TV on the December 19 episode of SmackDown (taped on December 15), teaming with DIY tag team partner Johnny Gargano against Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes.
One week prior to that Ciampa wrestled Dragunov for the United States Championship, but was unsuccessful in his challenge.
Ciampa signed with WWE in 2016 alongside Gargano and would win NXT Tag Team Titles once, NXT Championship twice and eventually the WWE Tag Team Titles, once again alongside Gargano.
Gargano was among those to pay tribute to Ciampa following the announcement of his departure last week.
Following the confirmation of his WWE departure, Ciampa has now dropped new merchandise on Pro Wrestling Tees, which can be viewed at this link here.
We will provide updates on Ciampa’s future beyond WWE and wish him all the best in whatever he does next.
