On last night’s episode of SmackDown, Matt Cardona made his return to WWE under his real name, being announced as an official member of the SmackDown roster, beating Kit Wilson.
Cardona appeared as a surprise entrant in the John Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament back in November, where he lost in the opening round to LA Knight under his old Zack Ryder name.
Taking to social media today following Cardona’s WWE return, Shawn Spears teased a potential future clash with Cardona now both are back in WWE.
He said:
So maybe NOW I can wrestle @TheMattCardona again….
Spears returned to WWE back in 2024, with him now part of the NXT roster as a member of the Culling alongside Niko Vance and Izzi Dame, where he is a former North American Champion.
