WWE star Liv Morgan has provided an update on the release of a major upcoming Hollywood movie project.
In April 2025 it was revealed that Liv Morgan had been cast in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo alongside Lily James and Shun Oguri.
While Morgan finished shooting her role in the movie in May last year, an official release date for the movie has not yet been announced.
Speaking with Director’s Cut Radio, Morgan discussed her role in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo and revealed that the film is hitting theaters in September.
Morgan said:
“I have something on the way. Bad Lieutenant I filmed in Japan last year. It’s going to hit theaters in September.
“I was very excited about the project. I learned a lot and I feel better after the fact having the experience.
“I was lucky to be in the room with all of these incredibly talented veterans of the film industry and the WWE audience is gonna see me in a way that I think perhaps they never thought they’d see me, so I’d tune in.”

Could Liv Morgan Leave WWE For Hollywood?
When discussing her role in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo with The Takedown on SI in February, Morgan said she feels that WWE will “always be her main priority” over Hollywood, but she is looking forward to more acting opportunities in the future.
Morgan said:
“Yeah I do feel like WWE is going to always be my main priority.
“I have such an unconditional love and appreciation and gratefulness for WWE. I’d given me everything good in my life. But through WWE, I’ve learned that I love to be a character.
“I love to channel whatever I have into being someone completely different. So, I’d love to do more movies and entertainment in that aspect and I feel WWE have been really gracious with me and letting me try these opportunities.
“So yeah I’d love to do more as long as it fits with my WWE scheduling.”

Liv Morgan Could Be Set For A Career Best Year In 2026
With her Hollywood major motion picture debut set for release later this year and a Women’s Royal Rumble win already in the bag, Liv Morgan appears to be set for what could be a career defining year in 2026.
As a result of her first-ever Rumble win in Riyadh on January 31, Morgan will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the WWE Women’s World Title at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
While Morgan is already looking ahead to walking into the WWE Backlash on May 9 as the new champion, it’s evident that the company are fully behind Vaquer given how much success she’s achieved in under two years on the roster.
This makes the match an incredibly difficult one for fans to call, something that can also be said for the other three world title bouts across the WrestleMania 42 card: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley and CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns.
