What Happened Between The Rock & Cody Rhodes On WWE SmackDown

The Rock and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes

The Rock and Cody Rhodes came face-to-face on tonight’s February 21 episode of WWE SmackDown on USA Network.

After announcing next year’s WrestleMania 42 for New Orleans, Rock called Cody Rhodes out to the ring.

Firstly, Rock pointed out how he and Cody Rhodes had become good friends since last year’s Mania, even showing a photo of their mothers together.

However, Rock then pointed out that he’s on the TKO Board of Directors, which puts him in a major position of power over WWE.

He said Cody Rhodes has been a great WWE Champion, but he wants Rhodes to become The Rock’s Champion.

Rock said that if Rhodes does so, Rock can give him and his family everything they could want, and make their dreams come true, adding: “I just need you to be my champion”.

Rock then recounted exactly what happened when he returned last year when he tried to set up himself vs Roman Reigns for WrestleMania instead of the originally planned Rhodes vs Reigns match, which is what eventually ended up happening after all – and Rock actually praised Rhodes for standing up for himself and not allowing Rock to just walk in and take the match away from him.

At WWE Elimination Chamber in Toronto on March 1, Rock and Cody Rhodes will meet up once again, and Rock wants his answer as to whether Rhodes will agree to become The Rock’s Champion.

Rock ended by saying the one thing that he wants more than anything isn’t the Undisputed WWE Championship – it’s Cody Rhodes’ soul.

In addition to whatever happens between Rhodes and Rock, the Elimination Chamber is also set to determine who Rhodes defends his championship against at WrestleMania 41 – John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest or Logan Paul.
