A WWE scout has shared praise for an independent wrestler, following his recent comments about their latest match.
A WWE title was defended at the March 22 WWR+ Tournament For Tomorrow event, with Laynie Luck putting her gold on the line against Allie Katch.
While Katch wasn’t able to win the gold, or earn the WWE ID contract she’d have been guaranteed if she was victorious, WWE Creative Consultant & Domestic Talent Scout Gabe Sapolsky has specifically highlighted her as a greatly improved talent.
Praising Allie Katch, Gabe Sapolsky wrote:
Much respect to Allie Katch. Incredible WWE ID match vs. Laynie Luck at WWR yesterday. One of the most improved talents I’ve ever seen.
This comes after Sapolsky highlighting the match in another post, where he called it one of the best independent matches he has seen since he started as Creative Consultant & Domestic Talent Scout.
Laynie Luck also showed her respect to Allie Katch after the match, calling for WWE to “sign Allie anyways”.
Gabe Sapolsky often attends independent events live in his role as a scout, on his search for WWE’s next top stars.
The founder of the original Evolve indie promotion also contributes to the WWE Evolve brand, which is used as a developmental system for NXT.
In addition to this, Sapolsky oversees the WWE ID program, which he has done since the program’s inception in October 2024.
With Gabe Sapolsky sharing two praise messages highlighting Katch’s work, it would make sense for her to be the next star to receive a WWE ID contract.
The WWE ID program was created to give independent stars a pathway to WWE. Some ID signees appear regularly on Evolve, with Laynie Luck recently picking up her first victory on the brand.
