A WWE name has praised a recent match as one of the best matches he has watched on the independent scene in his current role with the company.

The March 22 WWR+ Tournament For Tomorrow event saw Laynie Luck retain her WWE ID Women’s Championship against Allie Katch.

While Katch was unsuccessful in winning the title and earning a WWE ID contract, WWE Creative Consultant & Domestic Talent Scout Gabe Sapolsky highlighted both stars, heavily praising the bout.

Responding to a Twitter user who stated that they witnessed something special and that this was one hell of a match, Sapolsky wrote:

Yes it was. One of the best matches I’ve seen on the indies since I started my current job in Sept. 2022.

This is high praise coming from Sapolsky, the man who can effectively open the gateway for WWE.

Gabe Sapolsky has overseen the WWE ID program since its inception in October 2024, which was creative to give independent wrestlers a pathway to WWE.

A founder for the original Evolve independent promotion, Sapolsky is also a major contributor to WWE’s Evolve brand, which acts as a developmental brand where WWE signees can cut their teeth before debuting on NXT TV.

Sapolsky’s scouting role sees him attend numerous non-WWE wrestling shows looking for future stars, so this high praise could potentially lead to Allie Katch earning a WWE ID contract, and both Katch and Luck becoming mainstays on Evolve.

With Luck recently winning for the first time on Evolve, it would make sense to see her more prominently featured on TV, especially with Sapolsky’s backing.
