Following his recent in-ring return in Australia, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has addressed a potential WWE return and retirement tour.

After suffering an injury in MLW’s Battle Riot last April, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam made his return to the ring back on February 27 for BCW in Australia.

Rob Van Dam was present at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, when John Cena competed in his retirement match, and he has now addressed the possibility of his own retirement tour in the company.

Rob Van Dam’s WWE Retirement Tour?

Rob Van Dam is set to make an appearance at WWE World over WrestleMania 42 weekend, appearing on April 20, a date he chose out for himself.

When asked about a potential in-ring return to the company, he noted that he and the company talk, and he’d always be open to considering anything, though he doesn’t like the idea of labelling something as his ‘retirement match’.

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, he said:

“I am open to consider anything, that’s part of being open minded, I try not to shut anything out without at least considering it, and when it comes to something like that, they’ve got my number, they can talk to me.

“As you know I’ll be appearing at WWE World, 4/20 remember. But we talk and we can definitely have that conversation, but as far as a retirement tour, unless I change my perspective, which always happens, you always look at everything from a different place in life if you keep going.

“But the way I feel now is I don’t like the idea of labelling something retirement, I don’t really wanna know if I’m having my last match when I am.”

More WWE Stars Retiring Soon?

Following the retirements of both John Cena and AJ Styles at the hands of Gunther recently, there are more WWE stars that we could see retire in the coming months.

Rey Mysterio was originally planned to face off with the ‘Career Killer’ at WrestleMania, though plans for Gunther at the show have shifted following an injury to Mysterio.

However, the fact that a match between Rey and Gunther was planned should at least lead to speculation that Mysterio plans on winding down his career soon.

Today, Brock Lesnar also noted that his recent WWE run is a ‘short thing’, with many believing the Beast may ride off into the sunset at SummerSlam in his hometown of Minneapolis this August.
