The Rock Addresses Criticism Of Praising Cody Rhodes On WWE Raw On Netflix

Share

The Rock has reacted to the criticism of his way of handling Cody Rhodes in the past on WWE Raw and then on the Netflix debut.

Despite past tensions between The Rock and Rhodes, January 6 saw The Final Boss and the American Nightmare share some light-hearted humor both on and off screen.

On the show itself, The Rock told the Undisputed WWE Champion to “tell Mama Rhodes that (he) said hello” as he praised Rhodes for “carrying the company” over the past twelve months.

The Rock would also appear on last night’s WWE NXT, as can be seen below this news story, and addressed his change of approach with Rhodes, saying:

“This time last year, The Rock, The Final Boss, everywhere I went, every gym, every restaurant, every church, every strip club, I heard the same thing.

“Why are you so mean to Cody? Don’t be mean to Cody. Cody’s got to finish to his story. Don’t be mean. Oh, my God!

“One year later, last night, Netflix, Raw, an amazing night we had, an electrifying night, an historic night.

“Last night, The Rock wanted to give props to Cody, wanted to give him his flowers.

“He’s been kicking ass, he’s been kicking ass, carrying the company on his shoulders.

“And, then what did they say? You can’t be nice to Cody. Don’t be nice to Cody. Don’t drink tequila with Cody.

“At the end of the day, let us all remind them that The Rock is The Final Boss, thinking twenty steps ahead.

“So, the best thing for them to do is to know their role, shut their mouth and enjoy the ride that The Rock is taking them on.”
