Mark Coffey was recently a guest coach at the WWE Performance Center, sharing his thoughts in a post on Instagram that reads:

“Fantastic time coaching this week at The WWE PC for @wwenxt”

The post was accompanied by photos of Coffey at the WWE Performance Center alongside referee Joey Gonzalez and the longest-serving trainer, Johnny Moss.

Coffey wasn’t the only former WWE name to serve as a guest coach this week, with Hall of Famer Ricky Morton also sharing his Performance Center experience.

As a WWE star, Coffey was a former NXT & NXT UK Tag Team Champion alongside Wolfgang, and held the United Kingdom brand’s iteration of the Heritage Cup.

The Future Of WWE In One Building

Opened in July 2013, the WWE Performance Center has driven the creation of a growing roster of prospects, a number of whom have gone on to success on the main roster.

Giving prospects a foundation in every aspect of the WWE system, the facility runs under the guidance of Matt Bloom, the head coach and star previously known as (Prince) Albert, A-Train and (Lord) Tensai.

Bloom is one of a number of former stars to be shaping the future of WWE in a system, with other coaches ranging from former Women’s Champion Jazz to British wrestling legends such as Robbie Brookside, Norman Smiley and Fit Finlay.

The current WWE Performance Center is based in Orlando, Florida, with the location being the home of NXT, Evolve and LFG, the A&E reality TV series.

A bold vision when it was first introduced, the WWE Performance Center serves to improve upon the qualities prospects bring from their past experience, shaping it into something suitable for the audience that the TKO-owned company continues to maintain.

Far from a one-size-fits-all approach, very much like the pathways that feed into the facility, the Performance Center provides training across all levels of experience, with many established stars also stepping through the doors to train, including those who are working back to a return from injury.
