Penta’s look stands out from the rest of the roster, with his signature make up and mask combination being part of his success in the company.

Speaking to No Contest Wrestling, Penta described his early obsession with Lucha Libre in Mexico, and how it made him want to stand out from the rest, leading to a series of changes to himself to create the Penta we know today.

He said:

“Every child in Mexico loves Lucha Libre, but in my case it was different. When I saw the wrestlers, I look at everything. ‘Oooh the boots, oooh the mask, oh wow, how?’ How small, the oil on their arm, everything, everything, yes.

“That’s why when I started training in my mind always was ‘okay, in Mexico we have like one million Luchadores, how can I be different?’ I start with the make up, the contacts, the tooth, everything. ‘Oh no, maybe no, I’m boring’. So I try again.

“So for example my first gear, Pentagon Jr, was like (long sleeves), and I wasn’t comfortable. I have tattoos and I wanted to be a bad guy, build my character, that’s why I cut it, I got more tattoos.

“So I start the make up, I start thinking outside the box. This is very important for Penta, when you start thinking outside the box, everything changes in your life.”
