A TNA Wrestling name and former WWE star has addressed the company’s championships being won by NXT stars.
A former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Santino Marella currently serves as the on-screen director of authority in TNA Wrestling.
With both companies in a business partnership, NXT stars have been seen in TNA Wrestling and vice versa.
This relationship has also led to the NXT stars holding TNA Championships, with Marella addressing that subject during a recent appearance on Medd in the Morning, saying:
“I think that, from what I’ve noticed and how I relate it to myself as well, any time one of our titles goes to an NXT talent, I think all it really does is elevate the TNA talent.
“The already hungry locker room and the already hungry talent just change gears and become even more disciplined, more focused, more vicious, and it really forces them to elevate, to improve and get it back.
“Any time a title has gone over there, the end result is that we have gotten it back, and we’re better off for it.”

Currently, the TNA International Champion is NXT’s Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, who has had issues with Marella over the past few weeks.
The issues between the NXT star and his real-life future father-in-law took a turn recently, with Arianna Grace siding with her fiancé after attacking her own father.
