Women’s World Champion Naomi made an announcement during tonight’s August 18 episode of WWE Raw in Philadelphia.
Last week, Naomi was scheduled to defend her championship against IYO SKY.
However, three hours before the show, WWE made the announcement that Naomi had not been medically cleared to compete.
In the week that followed, there’d been a mystery surrounding the reason for Naomi’s absence and what it could mean for the Women’s World Title.
Tonight, Naomi returned to Raw and addressed the situation.
When she was in the ring, Naomi threw to a video clip on the screen that was taken from a special new edition of Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast with Naomi and Jimmy Uso.
They made the announcement that Naomi is pregnant and they are having a baby!
Back in the ring, Naomi declared that she’s given up a championship once before in her career, but this time, “I ain’t handing you s**t!”
After forcing General Manager Adam Pearce to leave, Naomi joked that the women in the locker room should be thankful that ‘Big Jim’ likes to “Netflix and chill”, so they won’t have to get beaten by her.
She then also declared that The Bloodline is continuing with another new generation, which led to chants of OTC and Baby Uso.
Naomi then put the WWE Women’s World Championship down in the ring – relinquishing it – saying that she’s giving the locker room “nine months and change” to do what they want before she comes back to take over again.
After Naomi was finished, Michael Cole said we’ll likely learn more next week about how the new champion will be decided, with Stephanie Vaquer still owed the title match that was set to have against Naomi at Clash In Paris.
We’ll keep you posted with further updates as they emerge.
We send our congratulations to Naomi, Jimmy Uso and the newest member of their family!
