A former champion has addressed the possibility of them returning to MMA or fighting, following their WWE exit earlier this year.
With Shayna Baszler departing WWE in July, the Queen of Spades has now commented on the likelihood of her having another competitive fight.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Shayna Baszler stated that, while she’d be open to having another jiu-jitsu or submission wrestling contest, she feels MMA is a young person’s sport.
When asked if she’d ever compete in MMA again, she responded:
“That’s a funny question. I think I would do like jiu-jitsu submission wrestling again.
“Fighting is a sport in which, I think I’ve kept it up here (points to head), but a millisecond or two slower makes a big difference in the MMA world.
“That is a young person’s sport, and as much as I could handle myself in a street altercation or coach, or grappling-wise…
“I still teach jiu-jitsu and catch wrestling at a school in Orlando, and I coach sometimes at tournaments when I can go.
“As much as I can keep up there, I don’t know that I physically would be able to keep up with like a young and hungry (fighter).
