WWE star Maxxine Dupri has recalled a conversation she had with her fiancé the night before her Women’s Intercontinental Championship win.
Dupri won her first pro-wrestling title on the November 17 edition of Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden.
Following a distraction from AJ Lee, Dupri pinned Becky Lynch to become just the third ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
In a new WWE vlog showing the lead-up to, and immediate aftermath of Dupri’s championship victory, the new champion revealed that her husband-to-be – WWE LFG star Anthony Luke – told her that he knew she’d be a champion from the moment she was called up to the main roster.
In a clip from right after her title win, Maxxine Dupri said:
“It was funny, we were talking last night, I was like ‘I don’t know, I never thought I’d be champ, I just never thought this would happen for me.’
“He was like ‘I knew the day you got called up.’ That’s a good fiancé right there.”

Maxxine Dupri has teamed with Anthony Luke at numerous NXT house shows this year, most recently against Joe Hendry & Kendal Grey, and Arianna Grace & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a three-way mixed tag bout on November 7.
