IYO SKY and Asuka have separately addressed the treatment of Kairi Sane after this week’s WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden.
The March 30 episode of WWE Raw saw Raquel Rodriguez defeat IYO SKY, with the Kabuki Warriors playing their part in proceedings, only to be taken down by the Judgment Day member.
With Asuka once again berating Kairi Sane, The Empress of Tomorrow would send a warning in the direction of SKY in a video shared on Twitter, speaking to her Kabuki Warriors partner first, saying:
“Hey! Whose fault was that? Whose fault, huh? Damn, that hurt like hell. (After Sane reached for the side of Asuka’s face) Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me.
“IYO! IYO! Hey! Don’t bother with her (Sane). You got that? She belongs to me. Understand? Do what I say.”
Stating “yeah?” in the direction of Sane, the WWE star would respond with a somewhat terrified nod, with Asuka embracing her, saying “Good girl.”
IYO SKY, who had previously said that Asuka’s treatment of Sane wasn’t right, would address recent happenings in a post-match video also shared on Twitter, saying:
“Did you see that? Did you see that? Did you what Asuka did? Kairi, snap out of it! Kairi. Come on! That’s not right!
“She grabbed your hair, and you looked terrified. That’s not the real Kairi. I know the real Kairi, and this isn’t her.
“This is all, all because of Asuka. The real Kairi, she’s slipping away.
“Asuka, you’re not getting away with this. You’re getting more, a lot more, and I’m the one who’s going to beat it into you.
“I won’t let you do whatever you want anymore. I’m the one who stops you. Asuka, I will never forgive you.”
IYO SKY Vs. ASUKA At WWE WrestleMania 42?
IYO SKY and Asuka have a shared history that dates back to their time in Japan as Io Shirai and Kana, respectively.
Both signed by WWE, they would cross paths in 2022, with a notable shift happening when SKY teamed with Rhea Ripley, going on to defeat The Kabuki Warriors earlier this year to become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, only to lose the title to The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) in February.
With SKY focused on the treatment of Kairi Sane at the hands of Asuka, and just over two weeks to WrestleMania 42 on April 18 & 19, it would seem likely that there will be a match at the Allegiant Stadium Premium Live Event or the subsequent episode of Raw.
While neither competitor holds a championship, the stakes could be suitably high, with the association with Sane on the line, but which way could she turn in this situation?
There’s plenty of drama to be had, with the idea that Sane could continue to side with Asuka, fearing the repercussions should she choose to betray the star with whom she has shared three WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reigns, but there’s also the potential that siding with IYO SKY could set a new direction for that particular duo, considering that the other half of Rhiyo, Rhea Ripley, is set to face Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.
