Mere hours after a report of a new WWE Hall of Fame inductee emerged, the name has now officially been announced.
Earlier today, an ESPN correspondent reported that Dennis Rodman would be the next inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame, joining Demolition, AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon as members of the Class of 2026.
While the initial tweet by ESPN‘s Shams Charania was retweeted by the WWE account, WWE has now officially confirmed Dennis Rodman’s Hall of Fame induction.
That statement has now come via the WWE website, confirming that Dennis Rodman is Hall of Fame-bound, with the announcement reading:
“Earlier today, it was announced by ESPN’s Shams Charania that Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.
“A five-time NBA Champion and key member of iconic Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls teams, Rodman took over sports page headlines when he aligned with the New World Order in WCW in 1997. Known as Rodzilla, he teamed up with Hulk Hogan to face Lex Luger & The Giant in the highly publicized main event of WCW Bash at the Beach.
“Following Chicago’s win over the Utah Jazz in Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals, Rodman famously missed a Bulls practice to appear on WCW Monday Nitro in Detroit, where he and Hogan attacked Diamond Dallas Page. Rodman once again tagged with Hogan to face on-court rival Karl Malone & DDP at WCW Bash at the Beach 1998.
“Rodman also had a memorable match against the legendary “Macho Man” Randy Savage at WCW Road Wild in 1999.
“The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place Friday, April 17 in Las Vegas as part of WrestleMania 42 week.”
Celebrating The WWE Hall Of Fame Celebrity Wing
The WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing has seen its numbers grow over the past years, with the 2026 ceremony marking the 27th class of inductees.
Featuring names from across the entertainment spectrum, the celebrity wing sees sporting stars rub proverbial shoulders with actors, comedians and musicians, among others.
Of the 254 inductees, as of last year, there are only fourteen to have been inducted into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame, with Muhammad Ali being the last such name back in 2024.
Indeed, celebrity inductions are a rarity for a ceremony dating back to 1993, and baseball player Pete Rose being the first such name in 2004.
While all members of the celebrity wing have been involved in WWE in some capacity, others competed in wrestling matches, occasionally further afield, including Rodman, Mike Tyson, Mr T, Snoop Dogg, Muhammad Ali, and William “The Refrigerator” Perry, among those names.
With the WWE Hall of Fame taking place on April 17, more names will no doubt be revealed for this year’s ceremony ahead of WrestleMania 42 week.
