A WWE talent signing has named Booker T and his fellow Hall of Famer X-Pac as his two biggest mentors, sharing their advice that they have offered.
Among the first names to sign a WWE ID contract, Cappuccino Jones would go on to be the inaugural men’s champion, recently losing the title to Starboy Charlie.
Through the WWE ID program, Jones has access to legendary names as mentors and recently named two such supporters.
Speaking on the Opinion City Podcast, Jones named X-Pac and Booker T as his biggest mentors, stating:
“Let’s be talking about Sean Waltman, X-Pac. He’s one of my biggest mentors. I’ve learned so much from him.
“He’s someone who really has taught me to just be myself, be an artist. I’m an artist at heart. I think we all are, wrestling’s an art form at the end of the day. He’s really good about reminding me, just be yourself, just be loose out there.
“Booker T as well, I wrestle at Reality of Wrestling quite often. I’ve had so many matches there, and Booker T is just really good with the details.
“All these guys, Booker T, X-Pac, it’s no accident that they were stars for their whole careers. Off the top of my head, those two, but there’s so many. I could go on for days about all the great minds I have access to.”

Jones was a regular fixture at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling throughout last year, with his last appearance being at SubZero in December, retaining the WWE ID Championship against Edge Stone.
No longer the WWE ID Champion, Jones has also recently revealed he has the current Evolve Champion, Aaron Rourke, very much in his sights.
Having been inducted on his own in 2013 and as a member of Harlem Heat in 2019, Booker T is a two-time Hall of Famer alongside X-Pac, who also joined the Class of 2019 as a member of D-Generation X and the following year as part of the nWo.
WWE ID: A Legacy Of Born Legendary Names
Launched in October 2024, the ID program falls under WWE Recruit, along with the Next In Line (NIL) system, with the umbrella scheme founded by Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and Gabe Sapolsky, the man who created the original Evolve and now oversees the TKO-owned iteration.
X-Pac was previously revealed as a WWE ID coach, with the program also working with partner schools, including those run by Booker T, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and others.
An independent wrestler doesn’t have to be a member of a partner school to catch interest. Recently, Rhodes Wrestling Association (run by AEW star Dustin Rhodes) issued a statement after Jimmy House became a WWE ID prospect.
With Sapolsky heavily involved in talent scouting and development and Triple H having been the founder of WWE NXT, a developmental brand that aims to feed stars up to the main roster, it should come as no surprise that a formal and visible path now exists to create the next generation of stars.
