A former champion is in the final year of his WWE contract, with it believed that his deal could be up in the coming months.
Speculation has now arisen surrounding former NXT Champion Karrion Kross’ future.
Per Fightful Select, Kross is in his contract year with WWE, meaning that he’s in the final year of his current contract.
While some have told Fightful that Kross’ contract is set to expire in the summer, Fightful hasn’t confirmed this to be the case at the time of writing.
Kross first joined WWE in February 2020, before becoming NXT Champion that August.
He was called up to the main roster following two NXT Championship reigns in July 2021, and wrestled on the Raw roster until his release that November.
He was one of the first stars to return to WWE under the Triple H regime, making his comeback on SmackDown in August 2022.
Kross has interestingly had multiple indie bookings this year, notably defeating Hammerstone at the FSW Chris Bey benefit show.
He will make his Bloodsport return at the April 17 event during WrestleMania 41 week.
Kross recently addressed this upcoming independent appearance, which you can read more about right here.
