Two WWE Championships Being Unified Update

An update has emerged on whether or not two separate WWE championships are set to be unified in an upcoming match.

At NXT Roadblock on March 11 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, the main event will be a title vs title match between NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer.

NXT lead announcer Vic Joseph has clarified any confusion surrounding the championships, reiterating that although both titles are on the line, they are not being unified into one championship – they will still be two separate titles coming out of the match.

On the Getting Over podcast, Joseph said:

“Let’s just clarify this now. It’s Stephanie Vaquer, it is Giulia, the biggest women’s match in NXT history. It is title vs title. One woman will leave as the Women’s AND North American Women’s Champion. One woman will have both titles.

“If I misspoke – which I don’t think I did, because I know it’s not a unification match – if I did say it was a unification match because I was trying to smack Booker for making noises or I was hitting Corey for some reason, then I apologize. But it is not a unification match.”

Also on the card for WWE NXT Roadblock is a street fight between Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans, a TNA World Tag Team Championship match with the Hardy Boyz defending against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom, and Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against TNA X-Division Champion Moose.
