A WWE star has pitched renaming a current championship after beginning her second title reign on Monday Night Raw.
Of the three title matches that featured on the card for the first WWE Raw of 2026, two saw new champions crowned.
While Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY kicked off the night by dethroning the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Becky Lynch would also capture her second Women’s Intercontinental Title in the middle of the show.
In what was her first win over Maxxine Dupri on her fourth attempt in recent months, Lynch used the bottom rope to gain enough leverage to get a pinfall win, and as many fans will expect, Lynch was full of things to say after the win.
After already claiming to have “dominated” the match in her initial reaction to the win last night, Lynch has now taken to Twitter to gloat about all the messages of congratulations she’s received from “celebrities, sports stars and dignitaries from “all over the world”.
However, in her tweet she also pitched changing the name of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship to the WWE Galactic Championship, because “many people” are referring to her as the greatest champion in the “whole galaxy”.
Lynch wrote:
My phone has been blowing up with calls from the BIGGEST celebrities, MASSIVE sports stars, dignitaries from all over the world CONGRATULATING me and THANKING me for beating Maxxine last night!
As YOUR Intercontinental champion, I represent each and EVERY one of you (even my HATERS)!!!
MANY people are saying I’m the greatest champion in the WHOLE GALAXY!!! THEY should rename it the GALACTIC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
Something to look into.
Given how much Becky has accused Raw General Manager Adam Pearce of corruption in recent months, it’s probably unlikely he’s going to “look into” this change, despite Lynch’s pitch.
