A WWE legend had to explain how wrestling worked to his son after he wouldn’t stop crying after the legend lost a world championship match.
Following the iconic segment on the June 17, 2013 Raw episode which saw Mark Henry attack John Cena after fake-announcing his retirement, Henry challenged for Cena’s WWE Championship at the July 1 Money in the Bank event.
With Mark Henry ultimately coming up short, the Hall of Famer has now told Nailz Knows that his son, Jacob, wouldn’t stop crying after his loss.
Stating that it was at this point he explained how pro-wrestling works to Jacob, Mark Henry said:
“When I lost to John Cena in Philly, after I did the pink jacket retirement, he cried and just would not stop crying.
“I had to tell him that day that it was me that wanted to come home. It wasn’t them and it wasn’t John Cena that beat your daddy up. It was the fact that, I want to come home and help raise you.
“He was like ‘Wait a minute, what do you mean that you let him?’ I had to have the conversation like, ‘There’s no Santa Claus.'”

While Mark Henry was previously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018, we could one day see him receive another Hall of Fame ring, alongside his former faction members.
The former World Heavyweight Champion has called for the Nation of Domination faction to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, a likely possibility, given the star-studded lineup and impact on WWE history.
