A WWE star has addressed winning his first championship on the main roster, following this week’s edition of SmackDown.
The December 26 edition of SmackDown saw Ilja Dragunov defend his US Championship once again against Carmelo Hayes.
The former NXT North American Champion was ultimately victorious, claiming his first traditional title since joining the main roster in April 2024.
Carmelo Hayes has now taken to Twitter to react to a video of his title win.
Sharing WWE’s video, Hayes wrote:
Craziest feeling ever , I felt the people lift me to top rope, can’t even explain it .

Hayes also shared a photo of himself with the US Title belt, writing:

Carmelo Hayes’ championship win ended Ilja Dragunov’s reign with the gold, which is officially recognised as being 70 days long, following Dragunov defeating Sami Zayn for the gold on October 17.
Triple H has also addressed Carmelo Haye’s WWE US Championship win, sharing an interesting tease ahead of 2026.
