A WWE champion has responded to online criticism about their lack of title defenses since winning their gold.

Jade Cargill became WWE Women’s Champion at the November 1, 2025 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, defeating Tiffany Stratton to win the title.

Cargill hasn’t defended her title in a televised match since then, having only wrestled twice on SmackDown in her 77 days as champion.

With Cargill recently finding herself at odds with Jordynne Grace, the duo’s back and forth saw Grace highlight that the WWE Women’s Champion has yet to defend her gold.

Jade Cargill has since taken to Twitter to indicate that she doesn’t want the recently-debuting Jordynne Grace to be her first challenger, writing:

“My first Title defense will not be against some walk up nobody. 💅🏾 and yall can CONTINUE to be angry about it. You might as well cry. 🤣 IDGAF”

In response to a Twitter user bringing up her lack of title defenses, Cargill replied:

What’s your point?! Yall only complain it’s me! I get it. I’m always the topic of y’all discussions 💅🏾 I’m just that BITCH 🥲🤣

Jordynne Grace wrestled her first match as a WWE SmackDown star on the January 9 episode, defeatin Alba Fyre ahead of being confronted by Jade Cargill.

Cargill was ringside to watch Grace score a victory over Chelsea Green on the January 16 show, and was inadvertently knocked off the apron by Chelsea Green after the bout, allowing Grace to pose with the title belt.
