The stipulation for an upcoming WWE championship match has been clarified by one of the participants involved.

NXT Halloween Havoc takes place on October 25 and will see The “Broken” Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) taking on DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and/or Osiris Griffin).

The match for the NXT Tag Team Championship will be fought under Broken Rules, with Matt Hardy now clarifying just what that means.

Speaking on The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, the TNA Wrestling star explained what Broken Rules entailed, confirming it wouldn’t be a “cinematic match”, saying:

“A Broken Rules Match is basically a match with no rules, where anything goes.

“You can fight all over the building in the venue. The standard rules of a pro wrestling match are broken.

“This will be a real match in the arena, yes.”

A “no rules” match would suggest that the upcoming NXT Tag Team Championship match will be no disqualification, given extra options for creativity for The Broken Hardys and DarkState.

Hardy’s name has arguably become synonymous with the “cinematic match” concept, with The Final Deletion in 2016 taking place over at TNA.

The current TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Champions, The Hardys defeated DarkState (Lennox & Griffin) at NXT ShowDown in a Winner Take All match, retaining their championship and becoming NXT Tag Team Champions.

Elsewhere in his podcast, Matt Hardy revealed the conversation he’d had with his son, Maxel, about potentially signing with WWE.
