R-Truth has denied that he has met The Rock previously after having a first-time encounter with him backstage at WWE Raw.
With The Rock appearing on the Netflix premiere of WWE Raw, R-Truth shared a photo of meeting the opponent of his ‘childhood hero’ John Cena.
In the photo, which can be seen below this news story, both men seem overjoyed to be in each other’s presence for, apparently, the first time, with Truth tweeting:
“When I was a kid, I grew up watching my childhood hero @JohnCena have countless battles with @TheRock…I finally had a chance to meet #Thefinalboss 🙌🏾, 🤔 name this team”
A number of fans would attempt to provide some insight into R-Truth’s history with The Rock, particularly around Survivor Series 2011.
R-Truth would correct the fans who did this by pointing out that it’s not actually him.
As can be seen below this news story, the November 2011 PLE saw John Cena and The Rock team up to face Awesome Truth (R-Truth & The Miz).
Following his appearance on this week’s WWE Raw, The Rock rolled into NXT on January 7, appearing in the ring and answering the criticism of his handling of Cody Rhodes.
