The writer for the segment between Cody Rhodes and The Rock on last night’s WWE SmackDown show has been revealed.
The Rock was announced to make his return to SmackDown on Thursday night, which led to a lot of speculation about what he would be doing, and his status for WrestleMania 41.
On the show, Rock announced that next year’s WrestleMania 42 event would be held at the Superdome in New Orleans on April 11 and 12, 2026, but that’s not all he did.
Rock called out Cody Rhodes, where he addressed his title reign, and attempted to recruit him to becoming ‘his’ champion, announcing that he would be at the Elimination Chamber in Toronto to hear Cody’s decision to his offer.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Cristian Scovell was the man listed as the writer for the segment between Cody and Rock, with him typically writing Cody’s segments.
The Elimination Chamber event will also feature the titular Chamber matches to determine the number one contender’s for the Undisputed WWE Championship and Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 41.
It was recently announced that WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg would join John Switaka as the co-head writer of the SmackDown brand.
