NJPW star Will Ospreay has now reacted to former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White leaving Japan.
At Saturday’s (February 11) NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka event, White faced off against Hikuleo in a ‘Loser Leaves Japan’ match.
White ultimately came up short, and was pinned by Hikuleo following a huge chokeslam.
With White set to leave the country, Will Ospreay has now taken to Twitter to share a message for his former factionmate.
Ospreay wrote:
Believe it or not.
I’ll miss you calling me an idiot on a regular basis.
We are similar & yet so different.
Was a pleasure beating the piss outta you and seeing how much you developed into who you are now
I hope my suit fits well wherever you go d**khead. @JayWhiteNZ
White and Ospreay were both part of the CHAOS faction in 2018, before White turned on Okada for Bullet Club in October 2018.
Ospreay later turned on the faction leader to form his own United Empire stable in October 2020.
Fightful previously reported that White is expected to leave Japan for America when his contract ends ‘relatively soon’.
The top star will be in action for NJPW at the February 18 Battle in the Valley show in San Jose, California.
At the US event, White will battle AEW’s Eddie Kingston in singles action.
