Two WWE stars showed more signs of a heel turn during tonight’s episode of SmackDown after a change in attitude last week.
Last week’s SmackDown saw the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) put the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford).
The match was cut short with no decisive winner after interference from Tommaso Ciampa, essentially ruining the Profits’ chance at becoming champions.
However, as MCMG tried to apologize to Dawkins and Ford, the Profits instead sucker punched Shelley and Sabin and walked off with an attitude.
Fast forward to tonight, and Ciampa’s tag team partner Johnny Gargano was trying to calm things with MCMG, and explained that if they gave Ciampa and Gargano a title shot, Ciampa wouldn’t have a problem with them any longer.
However, MCMG said they believed the Profits deserve the next chance since their shot last week was cut short, and which point Ford and Dawkins themselves walked in.
Dressed in all black, the Profits had a noticeably cocky attitude about the fact they should be considered next in line for a title shot, and pretty much mocked Gargano for having issues with his tag partner Ciampa.
For the second straight week, it does seem like the Profits are heavily leaning towards a heel turn.
In an update from later in the show, Ford had a match against Ciampa, and Ciampa was clearly the more heel of the two. Ford managed to pick up the win with a roll-up after countering out of the Fairytale Ending – Ciampa went to attack him post-match but Dawkins came out.
That brought out Gargano to try and calm Ciampa down, but Ciampa just shoved Gargano down again before MCMG came out and Ciampa bailed.
