Two WWE stars have now commented in post-match interviews after they faced each other in another international company earlier today.

It was recently announced that WWE NXT stars Charlie Dempsey and Harlem Lewis would be going to Japan to wrestle for Pro Wrestling NOAH.

They made their debut today in a match against each other, which was won by Dempsey.

Their next match will see them team up in an NXT vs NOAH tag team match against Jack Morris and Ulka Sasaki.

In an interview after the match, Dempsey, son of WWE legend William Regal who has also wrestled in Japan, said:

“I consider today an achievement. My debut for Pro Wrestling NOAH, a company that I used to watch all the time and take inspiration from. Watching the greats like Misawa-san, Kobashi-san, Hase-san, taking everything I could from them to learn how to be a true, proper professional wrestler.

“I stepped foot in that ring with Harlem Lewis, both of us came over here to represent NXT. Harlem gave it his all, he’s a hell of a fighter, but at the end of the day, experience won out.

“Next week in Ryogoku, it’s gonna be myself and Harlem Lewis against Jack Morris and Ulka-san. I couldn’t ask for a better tag partner after what he showed me in that ring.”

Lewis, in his post-match interview, said:

“Obviously any time that you lose it’s a disappointment. But it was an honor to be able to debut for NOAH and wrestle here in Japan – something that I’ve dreamed of since I started wrestling two years ago.

“I respect Charlie, and today I gained a lot more respect for him. Next week in Ryogoku, we’re gonna team up, and hopefully his experience can lead to me getting my first win in NOAH.

“But going forward, that’s not the Harlem Lewis that people have to remember. The Harlem Lewis people are going to remember here in Japan is a killer.

“And I promise you that Jack Morris and Ulka, you will remember that.”

Dempsey has wrestled in Japan before, but that was for AJPW rather than NOAH, in late 2023/early 2024.
