Triple H next to Sol Ruca with the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship

Triple H has addressed the rise of Sol Ruca after WWE Clash in Italy saw the star become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

At WWE Clash in Italy on May 1, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch to become Women’s Intercontinental Champion, despite The Man’s best efforts to frustrate.

Called up to the main roster on the April 20 episode of WWE Raw, Ruca left NXT as a former Women’s North American Champion and ex-Women’s Speed Championship.

With her first main roster title win now in the bag, Triple H has addressed the rise of Ruca in a tweet reading:

“4 years all in, 1 month on #WWERaw

“… AND NEW @WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. #WWEClash”

Ruca signed with WWE in March 2022, bringing with her a history in acrobatics, having previously competed as a gymnast.

The star recently admitted that she initially thought she was being offered a tryout for UFC when she was first contacted.

New Stars Shine At WWE Clash In Italy

Both called up this year, WWE Clash In Italy was a showcase for Oba Femi and Sol Ruca, competing against seasoned veterans with their matches having very different outcomes. For Femi, he would answer Brock Lesnar’s open challenge on March 16, setting them on a path for WrestleMania 42, while Ruca would see her own debut just a month later, facing Liv Morgan in a non-title match.

For Femi, he would see his first loss as a main roster star, failing to secure a victory over Brock Lesnar, with their feud likely set to continue after WrestleMania 42 saw the veteran star defeated, leaving his boots in the ring. After all, they currently sit at one-one, so a rematch to decide the outcome makes a degree of sense.

The main roster run, thus far, for Femi has been a masterclass in not only dominance but also character work for the star, showcasing the potential he has as a top-tier star in WWE.

For Ruca, placing her in a feud with Becky Lynch at her verbally vicious finest allowed the star to gain the sympathy of the WWE fans while showcasing the talent she had shown in NXT. There may have been a dicey moment with the Sol Snatcher earlier in May, but WWE creative stuck to their guns, allowing Ruca to rise to the position she now occupies post-Clash in Italy.

Both stars clearly have a bright future on the main roster, and there’ll no doubt be more opportunities for them to face Lesnar and Lynch in the future, hopefully further cementing the road to becoming top talent.
