A top WWE star was spotted backstage at last night’s NXT live event in Tampa, FL (July 19).
Saturday, July 19 saw the stars of Raw, SmackDown and NXT in action across two different live events in the United States.
The stars of Raw and SmackDown were in action at the American Bank Corpus Christi, TX, while NXT hosted a show from the UACDC in Tampa, FL.
One star with obligations in Tampa, but not for WWE over the weekend was CM Punk, who took up his seat at the commentary table for Cage Fury Fighting Championships event in the city on Friday.
Cory Hays of PWNexus and BodySlam.net has reported that Punk was in attendance for NXT’s event in Tampa on Saturday, with the Raw star purposely sticking around in the city after his CFFC obligations the night prior.
In a post on Twitter, Hays wrote:

He was in town after doing commentary on the Cage Fury Fighting Championship (CFFC) show on Friday night and decided to stay in town and check out the NXT show #NXTTampa
Since his WWE return in November 2023, CM Punk has been no stranger to NXT, appearing sporadically on the show’s programming as well as being showing up behind-the-scenes at the Performance Center.
