Earlier today, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed the five WWE ‘superstars’ that sell the most merchandise, and it makes for fairly interesting reading.
We’ll go up the list, from the fifth highest to the top merchandise seller in WWE, and I will offer my expert (debatable) opinions on my favorite items of merchandise that you can purchase from WWEShop.com for each entry.
Just as a quick disclaimer, Rusev isn’t on this list, which makes me very sad indeed.
5. Braun Strowman

Number five on the list of highest merchandise sellers in WWE is the ‘Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman. Strowman has created his loving relationship with the WWE audience by flipping vehicles, breaking rings and destroying the backstage area via grappling hook. And also throwing Michael Cole across, and off, the stage, absolutely the greatest thing I have ever seen.
In terms of merchandise, Strowman has a few different t-shirt designs available, including his most recent “Get These Hands” tagline. He also boasts a mug and his own POP! Vinyl Figure.
In my opinion however, his best piece of merchandise is the ‘Braun Strowman Bleacher Creature’. Until just now, I’d never seen one of these before, but look at it. Look at this then look at the above picture of actual Braun Strowman. Isn’t it adorable?

4. Seth Rollins

The ‘Architect’ comes in at number four, which is hardly surprising given that he gets a new t-shirt design every 37 seconds.
In all seriousness though, Rollins has been one of the WWE‘s biggest names for about four years now, and following his recent resurgence and his proclamation that he wants to be “Monday Night Rollins”, the WWE Universe has really taken to Rollins again, so much so he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34 and became a grand slam champion.
As I jokingly mentioned earlier, Rollins does have quite a few T-Shirt designs available, including various “Burn It Down” versions, inspired by his WWE 2K18 commercials and “Iowa’s Own” edition, which he used once a few weeks back when Raw was in Des Moines, Iowa.

He also boasts clocks, lunchboxes, mugs and even underwear. You name it, there’s probably a Seth Rollins item of merchandise for it.
My favorite Rollins-related product is the ‘Seth Rollins Elite Series 57 Mattel Action Figure’. The figure is based off his WrestleMania 33 entrance, and what really entices me to it is the inclusion of the flamethrower the ‘Kingslayer’ he used at the top of the stage before going head-to-head with Triple H. Marvelous.

3. Finn Bálor

I was somewhat surprised to see Finn Bálor on this list considering his booking in recent months, but this particular statistic proves he is still a huge star between WWE‘s ropes.
A certain extent of his popularity can possibly be put down to his ‘Demon (King)’ alter ego, in which he paints himself and wears a silly floppy thing on his head that draws comparison to ‘Predator’. This said however, he hasn’t brought out the ‘Demon (King)’ since TLC in October where he defeated AJ Styles, but there is evidently enough about the ‘regular’ Bálor to entice him to an audience.
Much like Rollins, Bálor has a vast array of products available, including his recent “Bálor Club fOreVER” and “OGBC” t-shirt designs, and this mask. I have no idea what the point of this is or who it is for:

My favorite item of Finn Bálor merchandise though, has to go to his newest t-shirt design, “Bálor Club fOr eVERyone”. Bálor made his entrance for WrestleMania 34 wearing this T-Shirt, and was flanked by members of the New Orleans LGBTQ+ community.

I have therefore picked this design as my favorite, for the tremendous message it portrays.
Joint 2. AJ Styles

The WWE Champion comes in at joint second in the highest WWE merchandise sellers, and it is fantastic to see how much of a genuine star the former TNA (Impact Wrestling) man has become in WWE.
Much like Rollins and Bálor, Styles has far too much merchandise for me to list off, but his signature “P1” gloves are available in multiple colors.
My favorite item in Styles’ collection would be the t-shirt below. AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura was a match that at some point in the not-too-distant past, we never thought we would see in a WWE ring, so to commemorate that with a t-shirt would be quite nice. The design is also very slick indeed.

Joint 2. Roman Reigns

The man most of us love to hate is in fact the joint second highest merchandise seller in all of WWE.
I can only assume that the younger members of the WWE audience are hugely attracted to Reigns, because otherwise he is a complete shock to see on this list, because we know how the majority of the WWE audience feels towards the ‘Big Dog’.
Reigns has main-evented four WrestleManias in a row however, which to more ‘casual’ consumers, makes him arguably the most popular wrestler, and biggest name, in the entire company.
Reigns’ signature products include his ‘Replica Vest Package’ and replica glove sets.
If I were to purchase any item of Roman Reigns merchandise, I would buy this cardboard cut-out, so I can punch it whenever I feel like it.

1. John Cena

Despite his part-time status, it comes as no surprise that the ‘Face that Runs the Place’ is the top merchandise seller in WWE.
Cena is a far way ahead of Styles and Reigns in terms of sales, so he is in no real danger of being knocked off the top spot in this particular statistic.
On a slight side note, Cena and Nikki Bella called off their engagement yesterday. This has however meant that the ‘John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse WrestleMania 33 Unsigned Commemorative Plaque’ on WWEShop.com has been reduced from $266.62 to $106.64.

I’m not going to list all of John Cena’s available merchandise because I would probably be here all night, but I do quite like this retro design, a throwback to the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ character Cena used to portray, before he became a huge babyface star.
