Tony Khan has addressed the AEW return status of Britt Baker following her lengthy absence from the company’s programming.
The November 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite was the last time fans got to see former Britt Baker compete inside a wrestling ring, with little news since then regarding the reason for her absence or potential return.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if he had any update on Baker’s return, to which he answered:
“I really like Britt a lot and there’s so many exciting things happening in the women’s division.
“Britt’s somebody I really like and respect a lot and I definitely think as we’ve evolved with more tag team and singles wrestling opportunities now across multiple shows, now that we have four hours of TV with Dynamite and Collision I think there’s going to be more and more opportunities.
“You’re seeing I’m signing a lot more young wrestlers and Britt’s still somebody highly regarded and respected here in AEW. I would expect to see Britt back in AEW, I just don’t want to say when. “It’ll be a good thing for everybody when Britt returns and I think it’s going to be very good for AEW in terms of how the roster has evolved.
“There’s more fresh matches, there’s a lot more people to wrestle and fresh rivalries, chance to revisit old rivalries, but certainly the women’s division I think we’ve grown so much and added new stars in the past year alone.
“So many great young wrestlers that have come into AEW. So Britt’s somebody I would love to have back in AEW soon.”

Baker was AEW’s first major female signee when the company started up in 2019, and made her debut at the first-ever Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May of that year.
She captured the AEW Women’s World Championship at the same event two years later in 2021 and held the gold for 290 days in total.
We will provide further updates on Baker’s future in AEW as more news becomes available.
