Three AEW Departures Confirmed

Three AEW names have officially departed the company following contract expiration, being removed from the company’s roster page.

At the start of the new year, a number of AEW stars’ contracts have come up for renewal, with them becoming free agents after their contracts with the company expired.

Today, three of those names were officially revealed to have departed the company, those being Alex Abrahantes, Mercedes Martinez and Matt Taven.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed the three departures, and all three have subsequently been removed from AEW’s roster page.

Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW also reportedly expired at the end of 2025, with him now reportedly a free agent.

However, Jericho remains listed on AEW’s roster page as of this writing, even following the removals of Matt Taven, Alex Abrahantes and Mercedes Martinez.

We will provide any updates on Jericho’s AEW status and reports of a potential WWE return as they become available.
