Bayley has revealed her initial reaction to being paired with former Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria on WWE programming.
After facing against one another for Valkyria’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship in early 2025, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were paired together on the Road to WrestleMania 41 and eventually earned the right to challenge then WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
While Bayley would ultimately be replaced by the returning Becky Lynch after a storyline backstage attack by “The Man,” Bayley and Valkyria’s team would stand the test of time, even after they once again feuded against each other, along with Lynch, for the Women’s IC Title in the Summer.
Speaking with No Contest Wrestling, Bayley admitted that she questioned the pairing at first as she didn’t know the Irish star, but after one night of hanging out they clicked and now have a close bond.
Bayley recalled:
“She is incredible. We kind of just got thrown into this tag team last year before Mania and I was like, ‘This is weird, I don’t know this girl, like genuinely why are we doing this?’ And then we hung out one night and I was like, ‘Oh, she’s amazing.’ She’s hilarious, she’s a sweet person and she loves wrestling on a different level, weirdly like I do, so that was just natural.”
