Stephen Fry Names Roman Reigns & The Undertaker As Some Of His Favorite WWE Stars

Stephen Fry has named The Undertaker and Roman Reigns as some of his favorite WWE superstars.

The actor and comedian is set to appear in the first episode of ITV’s second season of The Assembly, a show that sees one celebrity sit down and get quizzed by a group of autistic, neurodivergent and/or disabled interviewers.

One of the questions posed to Fry was: “Who’s your favorite World Wrestling Entertainment superstar?”

Responding first with laughter, Fry would then open up about his fandom for WWE, which he was introduced to by his husband Elliot Spencer.

Naming The Undertaker and Roman Reigns as two of his favourites, Fry said:

“This is all due to my husband, my husband when he was a teenager was very fond of WWE. His favorite was Shawn Michaels, The Heartbreak Kid.

“I like The Undertaker and Roman Reigns is very fine. Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

“People think Stephen you can’t like wrestling but I actually do.”

Stephen Fry’s Previous Comments On WWE

The actor and comedian first revealed his appreciation of WWE during an appearance on Rylan Clark’s podcast How To Be In Love in June 2025.

Fry reflected on first being introduced to wrestling by his husband:

“He has a great affection for, and I guess you could call it ironic but it’s real, WWE. I saw him watching it once I said, ‘What an earth are you watching? He said that is Roman Reigns.”

Fry also revealed that he had purchased two tickets to last year’s WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas:

“And I just don’t know whether I can reveal this extraordinary truth but I have bought a couple of tickets for WrestleMania in Las Vegas.”

Fry heaped praise on the talent of the WWE stars, saying he now understands how former WWE Champion The Rock successfully transitioned into Hollywood.

Fry said:

“…I’ve said that to some people (that he watches wrestling) and they say ‘Well, doesn’t he know it’s fake?’

“They are bloody talented. And you realize why The Rock is such a good screen actor. My goodness he’s articulate.”

WWE Embracing Celebrity Involvement For WrestleMania 42

While Stephen Fry’s appreciation for WWE is from afar as a fan, some celebrity names are set to be involved in the action at WrestleMania 42, which will once again return to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on April 18 & 19.

IShowSpeed is set to wrestle in his second WWE match when he teams with Logan Paul and Austin Theory to take on The Usos and LA Knight.

Elsewhere, in what has proven to be a highly controversial addition to the card, Pat McAfee will accompany Randy Orton to the ring for his main event Undisputed WWE Championship Match with Cody Rhodes on WrestleMania 42 Night One.

Jelly Roll has made appearances on WWE TV in the build to WrestleMania 42, but has not yet been confirmed to be appearing at the show.
