After wearing a walking boot in her last two WWE Raw appearances, a backstage update has emerged regarding Stephanie Vaquer’s injury status.
On the January 5 episode of Raw, Stephanie Vaquer confirmed she had suffered an injury to her left leg, but vowed to continue to fight on as WWE Women’s World Champion.
The nature and extent of the injury was not revealed, but given that Vaquer’s rival Raquel Rodriguez targeted her injury both last week, and on yesterday’s Raw in Dusseldorf, Germany, speculation has been abound regarding whether it’s legit or just a storyline.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Vaquer is indeed legitimately hurt, albeit not as bad as WWE are making out on TV:
“She has a legitimate injury but it’s a minor injury, it’s not as big of an injury as they’re playing up.
“I know that they (Raquel Rodriguez & Stephanie Vaquer) were supposed to do a match on TV in the next two weeks, I didn’t get the date but I don’t know if it’s going to be quite as soon.
“But I heard she was going to be cleared pretty quick, so it’s a minor injury but it’s a real injury.”
