Shinsuke Nakamura has sent a message ahead of his match with AJ Styles at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Following an invitation from Nick Aldis, AJ Styles returned to the “house that he built” for the January 23 episode of WWE SmackDown in Montreal, QC.
With his potential retirement match against GUNTHER looming over him in one week’s time, Aldis arranged a meeting between Styles and one of his most celebrated rivals: Shinsuke Nakamura.
After sharing the ring many times both in NJPW and WWE, Nakamura challenged Styles to a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24.
Ahead of what could be their final meeting inside the ring, Nakamura took to Twitter to send a message to his legendary opponents, writing:
Just one more time, at the end
(Translated from Japanese to English on Twitter)
While it remains to be seen whether Styles’ match with GUNTHER at next Saturday’s Royal Rumble will be his last, “The Phenomenal One” has confirmed that his retirement will come at some point in 2026.
Nakamura has also alluded to winding down his own in-ring career, it’s not clear when exactly he’s planning to hang up his boots.
