An update has emerged regarding the status of former WWE star Shayna Baszler after she was listed as a producer for a match on Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
Shayna Baszler was released by WWE during the company’s round of talent cuts in early May 2025, bringing an end to an eight-year run in the company.
With Baszler serving a 90-day non-compete clause following her exit, an update emerged following the July 8 episode of WWE NXT, when it was reported that Baszler, along with Chris Girard (Oney Lorcan) produced the match between Kelani Jordan and Lainey Reid on that show.
With the report leading to plenty questions regarding Baszler’s status in WWE, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio commented on the matter and revealed that the former two-time NXT Women’s Champion has not re-signed with WWE as an agent, with Tuesday’s NXT match not the first one she’s helped produce since her release in May.
Meltzer said:
“The story was made out to be bigger than it was, she has been at NXT tapings. She has agented other matches but this is the first one to come out.
“But it’s not like she’s taken a job as an agent, she’s doing it since she’s around and they’ve asked her.”
