Two WWE stars have advanced to the semi-finals in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent.
After the conclusion of the first round, the quarter-finals kicked off on tonight’s November 24 episode of WWE Raw in Oklahoma City.
Both quarter-finals tonight are from the right hand side of the bracket, meaning the winners will face each other in the semis.
The first quarter-final was between GUNTHER and Carmelo Hayes, who had beaten Je’Von Evans and Bronson Reed respectively in the first round.
Tonight, it was GUNTHER who picked up the win to advance to the semi-finals.
Tonight’s second quarter-final was between Solo Sikoa and Penta, who advanced past Dolph Ziggler and Finn Balor respectively.
Just a couple of minutes into Sikoa vs Penta, Penta suffered a legitimate injury from a hurricanrana off the barricade on the outside and it was ruled he was unable to continue, meaning Sikoa won the match and advances in the tournament to face GUNTHER.
The quarter-finals on the left hand side of the bracket will take place on this coming Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown (which has already been taped).
Those matches are Jey Uso vs Rusev, and LA Knight vs a mystery opponent after Sheamus withdrew due to injury.
The eventual winner of the tournament will face John Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Cena’s final match.
