Santino Marella’s WWE return match has been announced for next week’s episode of NXT, with him challenging for a championship.
Santino has made a number of appearances on recent episodes of WWE NXT, with him serving as the Director of Authority for TNA, serving as a bridge between the two promotions alongside his daughter Arianna Grace.
Santino has competed in a number of matches for TNA this year, but he has not competed in a WWE ring since 2014.
However, Santino is set for his first WWE match in 11 years on next week’s episode of NXT, and he is set to challenge for a championship in it!
On tonight’s episode of NXT, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page came to the ring, where he declared himself the greatest North American to hold the title.
In doing so, Page tossed aside the title, unveiling a new North American Championship with the Canadian flag on the strap.
This ended up bringing out Santino, who said that, while he is a great Italian, he resides in Canada, and he wants to stand up for his country.
After the segment, it was confirmed that Santino will face off against Page for the title on next week’s NXT.
