Royce Keys (Powerhouse Hobbs) has addressed his WWE debut in a video recorded prior to Saturday’s Royal Rumble match.
After his AEW departure was confirmed earlier this month, it was reported that Powerhouse Hobbs had signed with WWE, and would be going under the name Royce Keys.
Keys would make his WWE debut in the men’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number 14 and eliminating former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
In a new video uploaded by WWE highlighting the behind the scenes of Keys’ Royal Rumble debut, Keys opened up on his debut, taking in the stadium ahead of the show.
He said:
“This is wild. Like something out of a movie man, this whole set up. Walking down this aisle, into the ring, the background, it’s pretty amazing man, I’m getting goosebumps under this sweatshirt.
“It feels real, looking at the ring, seats, stage set up. Never thought I’d be a part of something this big, this is huge, this is leading to the Grandaddy of Them All, it starts tonight.”

Later in the video, Keys opened up on his decision to join WWE, believing that the ‘universe plays out everything’ and that everything lined up for him to join the company.
He added:
“I’m a believer that things happen, the universe plays out everything so you don’t want to have any regrets. I personally don’t like looking back at things in life, second guessing myself or ‘what if I had done this’, ‘maybe I should have done that’. Everything lined up and made sense to be here.”
