This past weekend, WWE held three house shows including a su-su-supershow in Boston, featuring talent from both Raw and SmackDown rosters. However, there was an empty kennel on the premises as a certain big dog was absent from all three shows, the current Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
It’s not uncommon for wrestlers to be pulled from house shows for a variety of reasons, whether it be to heal from niggling injuries, travel issues or a whole host of other possibilities. What makes this series of absences so mysterious however is the fact that Reigns was advertised for all the shows right up until they happened. No statement has been given by WWE as to why ‘The Big Dog’ missed the shows, all anyone knows is that he wasn’t there.
Could it be injury? A family emergency? Did he need to go to the vets to get his fleas taken care of? Only time will tell. If it does happen to be an injury, let’s hope it’s not too serious, and if it is, we here at WrestleTalk wish Roman a speedy recovery.
Given the fact Roman Reigns is the current Universal Champion and poster boy for the number one brand in WWE, the consequences of a devastating injury would be catastrophic for the company. Having said that, Roman is still being advertised for any and all future shows, so chances are he’ll either appear on tonight’s episode of Raw, or we’ll at least be given a statement about his whereabouts. Otherwise we’ll need to whip up some “missing” posters to post around town so he can find his way back home. What a good boy.
