Rhea Ripley and more WWE main roster stars will be part of next week’s special NXT Homecoming episode at Full Sail University.
Full Sail was the original home of NXT from 2012 up until five years ago when the brand’s shows were moved into the WWE Performance Center due to the pandemic, remaining there ever since.
Next week though, NXT returns to Full Sail for the first time in half a decade for NXT Homecoming, which will feature some notable returns.
Much of the lineup for the show was announced during tonight’s NXT, including a big match featuring three former NXT Women’s Champions.
The final segment on tonight’s show played host to the NXT returns of Stephanie Vaquer, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, and Rhea Ripley.
The dream team trio will face Fatal Influence next week, made up of Jazmyn Nyx, Fallon Henley, and current NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne.
More main roster former NXT Champions returning for next week are DIY and Carmelo Hayes, as DIY take on a reunited Hayes and Trick Williams in a tag team match.
An NXT original who was part of the brand all the way back at its start in 2012, Tyler Breeze, returned to WWE TV tonight, and will challenge Ethan Page for the North American Championship at Homecoming.
Also, Grayson Waller returns to NXT to host a Grayson Waller Effect segment with guests Ricky Saints and NXT Champion Oba Femi ahead of their title match at No Mercy.
Those were the four things officially confirmed during the rundown tonight.
However, in another note, Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame became #1 contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tonight, earning a title shot against champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
It was not stated that the title match will take place next week, but given the history of Bliss and Flair in NXT at Full Sail, it would make sense.
Bliss and Flair were highlighted in a promotional video for the show – again, referencing their pasts in NXT – but nothing was outright confirmed.
