Rhea Ripley has revealed that she had to change the signature that she’d use for autographs as a WWE star due to Roman Reigns.

Both Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley share the same initials, which led to the current WWE Women’s Champion deciding to change the way her signature looks.

The revelation came during a pack opening video shared by Topps, the company that produces WWE trading cards, with Ripley explaining:

“That’s the signature that I wanted to do because we’re both RR, and I couldn’t because… thank you, Roman. It’s the easiest.”

The signature in question would be the letter RR, with Ripley showing off a signed card bearing that autograph during the signing.

Some Autograph Hunters Create Issues

Autographs are much sought after by many fans, and not just when it comes to the stars of WWE, particularly if the signature is scribed on official merchandise, be it a photo, program, action figure or other memorabilia. For many fans, it’s a momento of meeting their favorite star, although there are those who want multiple things signed, potentially to turn into an item to sell.

The Undertaker has previously weighed in on fans asking for autographs in public places in the wake of footage of Rey Mysterio refusing to sign items he believed were going to be resold.

Saraya, now back in WWE as Paige, has also shared harsh words for the fans who she believes are going to resell items that she has signed, describing them as ‘scummy‘ and making her autograph strategy crystal clear.

In March 2023, Ripley shared her frustration after being followed by autograph hunters outside of an airport, with a report noting that a “larger conversation” was taking place in WWE over such incidents.

From time to time, footage emerges of WWE stars being swamped by merchandise-wielding fans in airports or hotel lobbies. It’s a stark contrast to the fans who hope to get a selfie or autograph and appear generally thrilled when the star in question does so.
