Renee Paquette has revealed that her favorite moment in AEW to date is very much related to her work with Jon Moxley.

Married since 2017, Paquette and Moxley are currently both signed to AEW, with the former being a backstage interviewer and her husband as the leader of the Death Riders.

During a recent episode of AEW Who Is?, Paquette revealed that her favorite moment in the company has been with Moxley has Continental Champion, providing her notes during his entrance for the first time.

Also noting that she has seen him “fall back in love with wrestling” during their time together, Paquette said:

“I sort of feel like my favorite moment is kind of new. Because I do those little hits during the Continental Championship matches, with Jon being the Continental Champion, I love getting to go out for his entrances.

“I like getting to do those anyways, just to give a little piece of information, I feel like I’m just doing more, and I like doing them. But the fact that I get to do them with Jon now is really cool.

“I also just feel like in the last couple years, just being able to watch Jon and watch him fall back in love with wrestling, and understand wrestling from his point of view is really cool.

“Then for me to get to go out there and be there for his entrance and hear the crowd reacting to him, to even having just a little moment of him passing through the shot while I’m speaking to camera, giving a note on something about him going into the match or his opponent.

“I have multiples of those, but I do think the very first time we got to do one of those, I was like, whoa, it was really cool. I get to watch him all the time, but it’s usually from a monitor, it’s from a different perspective.

“To get to be right there at ringside as he’s coming up over the barricade, or out where he’s about to walk into the crowd, is really cool.”

The Vocal Heart Of AEW

From being Renee Young in WWE to going by her real name in AEW, Paquette has brought her voice to every role she occupied, be it backstage interviewer, commentary partner or analyst.

Even with the scripted nature of some backstage interactions, Paquette has always had a fine grasp of the emotion of the situation, allowing her voice to search for the answers that the fans may be having, regardless of who she happens to be interacting with.

Her time in WWE saw her take up the commentary role on NXT, with the then-Renee Young going on to be the first woman to call a whole episode of Raw back in August 2018, securing herself a spot on the main roster team.

WWE Backstage would give Paquette another string to her bow alongside Booker T as they discussed the stories across the main brands, wrapping around a number of recurring segments that saw popularity among its viewership.

Paquette departed WWE in August 2020, heading to AEW in October 2022, with her time between roles seeing the creation of the Oral Sessions interview podcast.

In AEW, Paquette serves as a backstage interviewer and pre-show panelist, bringing the same vocal heart to proceedings in the Tony Khan-led company.
